Notably, you'll have the opportunity to get your hands dirty on the lush grounds of Hoathly Hill, where we'll delve into cultivating outdoor marvels like Wine Cap Mushrooms. Additionally, you'll uncover the cultivation techniques that empower you to nurture your very own mushrooms indoors at home. Get ready to unlock the mysteries of mushroom cultivation in this captivating half-day workshop, where theory and practice unite seamlessly to equip you with the skills you need. What You Will Learn: - Introduction to the magical world of fungi and their role in environmental cycles. - Essentials for cultivating mushroom species suitable for small spaces both indoors and outdoors. - Basic hands-on skills, such as preparing substrate and inoculating spawn. - Practical tips for integrating fungi into permaculture systems. - An overview of pest and disease management in mushroom cultivation. Featured Mushrooms: Due to the time frame, we'll focus on a few easy-to-grow yet delectable mushroom species: - Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus Ostreatus) - Wine Cap Mushrooms (Stropharia Rugosoannulata) What You'll Take Home: - An Oyster mushroom starter kit to immediately begin your indoor mushroom cultivation adventure. This will comprise of a batch of Oyster Mushroom spawn, as well as a pre-sterilised block of hardwood substrate. - A guide filled with valuable tips, contacts, and references to keep you on track during your immediate and future growing journey. Who Should Attend: This workshop is open to anyone who wishes to learn, and no prior knowledge is needed. We do ask that those under the age of 16 are also accompanied by an adult on the course.
